Account, access, and password recovery
Your account identifies you in ReportArea. A verified email is required to create an organization or accept an invitation.
Availability: registration, sign-in, and recovery are public; the profile requires signing in. Level: Basic.
What it is for
It lets you register, prove that you control your email, keep a session, recover access, and update personal information securely.
Before you start
Use an email account you can access. If you received an invitation, register with the exact email address that received it.
On the public home page, you can press any product screenshot to expand it to full screen. Close the view with Escape, Close, or by pressing the backdrop. Product screenshots follow the language selector and appear in Spanish or English to match the active interface.
Create and verify an account
- On the public home page, choose Create my workspace. If you are already on the sign-in screen, choose Create account.
- Enter your name, email, password, and password confirmation.
- Accept the terms and submit the form.
- Open the verification message and use its link.
- If it does not arrive, request another message from the verification screen.
The password must contain at least 8 characters. The email cannot already belong to another account.
Sign in and out
Enter your email and password. Keep me signed in extends the session in that browser; use it only on a trusted device. To leave, open the profile menu and choose Sign out.
Recover the password
- Choose Forgot my password on the sign-in screen.
- Enter the account email.
- Open the link you receive.
- Set and confirm a new password of at least 8 characters.
For privacy, the form response should not be used to determine whether an email is registered. Sensitive forms limit repeated attempts.
Update the account
In My profile, you can change your name and email. Changing the email requires your current password. The new email becomes unverified, a fresh verification is sent, and operational access remains blocked until you complete it. Other sessions are also closed.
Changing the password requires the current password, a different new password of at least 8 characters, and confirmation. Saving it closes sessions on other devices and renews the current session.
Rules and effects
- Emails are normalized and are not case-sensitive.
- An operational account can have only one active membership.
- Without a verified email you can complete identity steps but cannot use the organization.
- Without an active membership, ReportArea sends you to onboarding or your invitations.
- If the organization is archived or unavailable, its data cannot be opened.
Required and optional
Required for registration: name, valid email, confirmed password, and acceptance of terms. Optional at sign-in: keeping the session active.
Example
You replace your work email with a new one. ReportArea requests your current password, sends verification to the new address, and blocks operational access until you confirm that message.
Privacy and security
Do not share verification or reset links. Sign out on shared devices and do not enable a persistent session on them. ReportArea never needs you to send your password through a report conversation.
